It was another long road trip for the Auburn Commanders.  On Saturday, July 30, 2016 the Commanders traveled to Carthage, NY to battle the Carthage Revolution.  This evening would start out with both teams hungry for a win.

The Auburn Commanders started off strong with three big runs right out of the gate. #34, Henry Bradley had the first two carriers and then #7, Tre Bachus took charge and ran for over a 50 yards resulting in a touchdown run.  Then the Commanders’ kicker #68, Zach Singer kicked the extra point to take an early lead.  That lead would be short lived as the Revolution came back with eight minutes left in the first quarter and answered with a touchdown of their own, making it 7-7.

The next play, Chris Kitchens, #43 returned the ball to the Revolution’s 45 yard line.   Commanders pushed to get within the 5 yard line.  #44, Leon Atkins, ran the ball in for six with 1:30 left in the 1st quarter.  #68, Zach Singer, gets the point after making it a 14-7 game.

Revolutions start on their own 30.  After a quarterback switch the Revolution score with 12 minutes left in the half, the point after is good, making it a tied game 14-14.  The ball was driven back and forth most of the second half until the Revolution scored with a minute left in the first half.  Score was 21-14 the Revolution.

The game was nearly over but the Commanders had one last chance.  With 36 seconds left on the clock #17, Cazz Rowser, ran the ball back on kickoff scoring and adding 6 to the scoreboard.  The Commanders went for a two point conversion and they were successful!  It was a score of 22-21 at halftime, Commanders in the lead.

Five minutes into the second half #7, Tre Bachus, caught a pass and added six more points and #68, Singer was able to add the extra point making the score 29-21 Commanders.  There was plenty of more action in the second including the Revolution tying things up with 6:30 left on the clock.  Commanders took possession and pushed into revolution territory and attempted the field goal but it was no good as it hit the upright.  There were a lot of questionable calls by the referees in the second half which had a negative impact on the game.

With 25 seconds left in the game the Commanders attempted a field goal.  They missed and so with the score still tied the game went into overtime.

The Revolution started the overtime period with the ball.  The Commanders forced a fumble and recovered.  Commanders #6, David Jacobs, threw a huge pass to #17, Cazz Rowser.  Commanders win 35-29!! It was a very exciting game showcasing the talent that both teams possess.
