At 6’6” and 207 lbs Andre Iguodala is the perfect size to be in the NBA. He is both a shooting guard and small forward. In 2004, he was number nine in the first-round pick of the NBA draft, selected by the Philadelphia 76’ers from the University of Arizona.
Andre Iguodala was an asset while he was part of the Philadelphia 76’ers. During his rookie season 2004-2005, it was thought that he wouldn’t be an immediate starter. However, Iguodala surprised everyone and worked hard during the off season from the time of the draft until the start of the season and earned his spot as an immediate starter. In 2005, he was voted the NBA Rookie of the Year. In his last season with the 76’ers, he helped lead the team to victory over the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the playoffs. Even though the 76’ers lost the second round, it was still exciting. After leaving the Philadelphia 76’ers at the end of the 2011- 2012 season, he went on to play one year for the Denver Nuggets 2012-2013. Iguodala then moved on to the Golden State Warriors and has been with them since the 2013-2014 season. In 2015, Iguodala helped the Golden State Warriors win the NBA Championship. He was also named the Most Valuable Player of the NBA finals.
Andre Iguodala may not be the high scorer of every game, but he is a team player. He makes sure that the ball keeps moving and that everyone works together. Reflecting on his accomplishments and personal growth since his first drafting in 2004, he would be a perfect piece of the puzzle with the talent of the Philadelphia 76’ers current roster.
