Portland Trailblazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum is the latest attempt to sway Carmelo Anthony to join up with his basketball team, posting an Instagram picture Sunday of the Knicks 33 year old small forward in a Portland Trailblazers uniform, a week after a Rockets player used the same method to recruit Anthony.

The Post has reported the New York Knicks’ new hierarchy of Steve Mills and Scott Perry want an audience with Carmelo Anthony to see if he would expand his wish list to want to join the team.

Previously, Anthony had been firm on being agreeable to waive his no-trade clause for only two teams: the Houston Rockets and the Cleveland Cavaliers. If he went to the Cleveland Cavaliers he would boost their chances of winning the 2018 championship alongside Lebron James and the rest of the Cavaliers.

Portland Trailblazers were believed to be one of the clubs interested in being part of a three- or four-team deal in which it would inherit pieces from an Carmelo Anthony blockbuster trade.

However, ESPN reported Saturday that the Trailblazers have no interest in just being a conduit to enable a deal, instead wishing to inherit the 10-time All-Star themselves is just a wish, a wish for now anyway. In the past, the New York Knicks have had interest in the Portland Trailblazers star small forward Mo Harkless. So maybe the Portland Trailblazers are still in the mix but everyone will find out for sure sooner than later in the near future.
